The work

Trim sets the character of a house. From simple baseboard to layered crown, casings, door hanging and built-ins, the work is in the miters, the scribing and the caulk line nobody notices because it is right. Installed and painted by the same crew.

What the work covers

  • Crown moulding and baseboard
  • Door and window casings
  • Interior door hanging and trim-out
  • Wainscoting and picture-frame panels

Process

  1. 1

    Measure

We measure the space and talk through the look you want.

  2. 2

    Plan the cuts

Materials and profiles are chosen, and the layout is planned before anything is cut.

  3. 3

    Cut and fit

Pieces are cut, scribed and fitted tight to the room.

  4. 4

    Fill and finish

Nail holes are filled and joints caulked, ready for paint or stain.

Estimate

We do not quote from a photo or a price list. We look at the work, then write up the estimate. These are the things that move it.

  • Size and complexity of the piece
  • Material and profile
  • Walls and floors that are out of square
  • Paint or stain finish
  • Number of rooms

FAQ

What is the difference between finish and rough carpentry?

Rough carpentry is the structure behind the walls. Finish carpentry is the visible woodwork: trim, casings, shelves and built-ins.

Can you match existing trim in an older house?

Often yes. We bring a sample of the profile to compare and tell you honestly how close we can get.

Will you paint the carpentry you install?

Yes, painting is part of what we do, so the carpentry and the finish can be one job.

How do I get an estimate for finish carpentry?

Send the estimate request on this site. We reply to arrange a visit, look at the work in person, and then write up the estimate. There is no commitment to hire us.

Send a few details and we will get back to you to set up a visit. The estimate is free and carries no commitment.
